PETER GABRIEL: The art-rock guru looks back on his astonishing 40-year career. From fronting progressive masters Genesis to solo pop success, his is a story of restless toil and adventure. With a new album set for release in March, Gabriel guides us through a unique life in music. PLUS! Kate Bush, Elbow and Vampire Weekend salute the legend!

COURTNEY LOVE: In this month’s mammoth MOJO Interview, Courtney Love talks custody battles and Kurt; grunge and glory; chaos and music. On the eve of the release of new album Nobody’s Daughter, the self-styled “suck-ass celebrity” reveals all to Steve Baltin.

JUDY COLLINS: She’s a folk legend, one of America’s greatest interpreters of song and the woman who discovered Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell. Judy Collins talks to MOJO’s Sylvie Simmons.

SERGE GAINSBOURG: Photographer Tony Frank guides us through his unseen Gainsbourg archive, sharing his memories of a legendary and “completely unique” artist.

EELS: MOJO speaks to the creative whirlwind that is Mark Oliver Everett about success, tragedy, his new apocalyptic LP and a life “that keeps getting more and more mysterious”.

THE 13TH FLOOR ELEVATORS: Roky Erickson and his band of Texan experimentalists dosed their electrified R&B with heavy, freak-out weirdness, thus laying the foundations for the acid revolution of the late ‘60s. We follow their trip from psychedelia to psychosis.

  • I had the misfortune to hear Gabriel's new album yesterday. It is quite simply the the most torturously boreing LP I have heard since Radiohead's OK Computer. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Steer well clear unless you want to be literally bored to death. How to ruin David Bowie's "Heroes" in one easy step; 1. Let Peter Gabriel sing it.

  • pg is disappointing many fans by dodging the HoF and his mates, most recently, in the name of his mellow, "Bloody" tour. I agree that he not only seems medicated, but that he owes Genesis and its fans a little of his time for being there for him when it counted(Milton Keynes), Clearly there is more going on behind the scenes than we know.

  • Hohohohohoho! "cede premier status to Uncut" Woohahahahahaha! "Uncut" guffawguffaw "cede premier status" snork snork! The day that that ale-sodden jizz-rag for stinky, DT-stricken Americana bores triumphs over the mighty MOJO will be the day when MOJO is finally, inexplicably edited by Alan "pissed meself" Jones and his hostel of homeless Hold Steady half-wits. there, said it.

  • The voice and the music ! Why do we not see more articles of GENESIS with Peter - I like Mojo a lot ! I m not a fanatic of pogressive ! I dig Bowie , Eno , Frip , Page , J Division , Wire,Cure , Spriguns , T Heads , Radiohead , Siouxsie etc etc . But Genesiis in the 70s need to be introduced to the new generations
