KINGS OF LEON: In between battling each other and hiding beneath varying levels of facial hair the Followill brothers found time to conquer the world. “No more boner lines,” they tell Paul Elliott.

  • Dear MOJO, Having just received MOJO 188 in the post, as usual I set about the crossword only to find all was well until 54 down and 56 across! How am I expected to win "Lucille" if I cannot complete the crossword due to (probably) "editorial gremlins"? Regards.

  • you made a mistake on the cover : the world's biggest rock band is AC/DC and not Kings of Leon

  • Yeah, I like that AC/DC song where the singer screeches and Angus plays that fast riff. What a bunch of monotones.

  • I still buy MOJO but I find that I tend to get through the magazine a lot quicker these days. The features just don't seem to have the depth that they used to - compare your Nick Drake issue to the piece which the late Ian McDonald wrote in the Jan 2000 issue. No comparison.

  • Indeed there is no comparison. Ian's wonderful feature was a critique of Nick Drake's work, finding in it a personalised Buddhist philosophy. My piece was a narrative focusing on the path that lead Drake to making his first album. To get a rounded idea of Nick Drake and his work, I think you need both approaches, not one at the expense of the other.

  • Honestly, this was the worst usage of $13.50! I bought the magazine soley based on the fact that it said "on the road with Kings of Leon". I thought it may be interesting but instead I read the exact same article I've ever read on them. This is their fourth album people...let's stop talking about their beginings and talk about what their doing in the future! And I'm pretty sure they're one of the best bands out there.

  • Hi Mojo, I bought this issue in a hurry and later realised the CD wasn't attached. I went back to the news agent and they had sold out of issues and didn't have a spare album... Really gutting as I'm a huge kings of leon fan and love what you've done with the beatles stuff... Please can you email me telling me how I go about getting this CD? hannahe06@mac.com Cheers! Hannah
