FREE CD! BAD SEEDS - NICK CAVE: ROOTS & COLLABORATIONS. A 15 track celebration of the man, his influences and his music. Open the door for gems from Scott Walker, The Saints, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Lydia Lunch, Karen Dalton and many, many more!

NICK CAVE: He’s emerged from the darkened depths of a gothic punk nightmare to cement himself as one of the most significant songwriters of his generation encountering hard drugs and raging inner demons along the way. In a MOJO world exclusive, Nick Cave looks back over the turmoil and joy of the last thirty years. Step forward a true rock ‘n’ roll great.

BRIAN ENO: In this month’s MOJO Interview, the godfather of ambient and super producer of some of the world’s biggest bands steps from behind the mixing desk to reveal all. “Producing is the best paid form of cowardice,” he tells Mike Barnes.

RY COODER: He’s spent the last four decades shunning the limelight, but the man that began his musical odyssey alongside Taj Mahal in The Rising Sons and later helped bring Cuban music into the mainstream is now ready to talk. “Music got a hold of me,” says the enigmatic Ry Cooder.

JANE BIRKIN: She’ll forever be associated with banned Number 1 hit Je T’aime Moi Non Plus, but there’s much, much more to the extraordinary life and career of Jane Birkin. Serge Gainsbourg’s muse tells all to MOJO’s David Hutcheon.

JOHNNY MARR: The greatest guitarist of his generation takes us through the 10 records that have soundtracked his life. Lois Wilson spends the day spinning '45s.

RON ASHETON: The Stooges’ guitarist, who died earlier this month, was a man whose monolithic, fuzzed-up tones ricocheted through the last forty years of music influencing generations of players in the process. But few knew the man behind the sound. Paul Trynka looks back on Ron Asheston’s life. Iggy Pop, J Mascis and James Williamson pay tribute.

THE DAVE CLARK FIVE: They deposed The Beatles from the top of the charts and were the first band to travel in their own private jet. Not bad for five lads from North London. Mat Snow delves into the full story of The Dave Clark Five.

REVIEWED!: Bruce Springsteen’s Working Dream / R.E.M’s Murmur goes deluxe / Morrissey returns / Candi Staton’s latest / Dan Auerbach’s solo offering / Vince Taylor / Graham Nash retrospective / Hendrix books / Arcade Fire DVD / Neil Young live and more!

PLUS!: Mott The Hoople are back / Kraftwerk co-founder departs / Astral Weeks live / David Axelrod speaks / New artists: Deerhunter, Janelle Monae / Taj Mahal / Farewell Odetta and Davy Graham.

AND FINALLY…he was busted with Brian Jones and Keith Richards and dropped acid with Syd Barrett, but who is the mysterious Prince Stash? MOJO heads to the Italian hills to find out.

  • So, I'm guessing the U.S. won't get the cool Nick Cave cover. Instead we'll probably get Axl Rose or some dumb s#@t. Kate Bush, Leonard Cohen...it happens every time!
