FREE CD! SUB POP 300! MOJO celebrates 20 years of America’s most iconic label with 15 killer tracks from the likes of Mudhoney, Green River, Tad, The Shins, No Age and many, many more.

NIRVANA AND SUB POP: Two decades on from the grunge explosion that turned an independent Seattle record label into a globally revered name, MOJO’s Keith Cameron reunites the sonic pioneers, key players and riotous music for an exclusive journey through Sub Pop’s unmatched history. PLUS! Mudhoney speak! AND! The 20 best Sub Pop records!

SOLOMON BURKE: In this month’s MOJO Interview, we travel to Los Angeles for a rare meeting with one of soul’s towering greats. After 50 years in the business, Soloman Burke is still preaching his message. “I’m moving faster than I’ve ever moved before”, he tells Geoff Brown.

SIGUR RÓS: Iceland’s sculptors of sound are back with a new album that sees them bend their unearthly hymnal soundscapes into a very different shape. MOJO’s David Sheppard heads to Reykjavik to investigate “the beginning of a whole new chapter”.

OASIS: Their seventh “groovy” album is set for release on October 9 and Noel Gallagher simply can’t wait to get the songs out there. In his very first Dig Out Your Soul interview, the Oasis chief updates MOJO’s Danny Eccleston on the state of his band in 2008.

BO DIDDLEY: June 2, 2008 will be remembered as a deeply sad day in the annals of music history as Bo Diddley, junkyard guitar man and rock ‘n’ roll originator, passed away at the age of 79. Michael Hurtt pays tribute to a true giant.

MOJO HONOURS LIST: Exclusive pictures and full report from this year’s awards bonanza. John Lydon, Led Zeppelin, Duffy, Genesis, Edwyn Collins, The Last Shadow Puppets and many, many more join us for an evening of quality musical celebration.

STEVIE WINWOOD: Multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, Britsh r&b king and honeyed-voiced soul survivor, Stevie Winwood has done it all. MOJO’s Mat Snow is granted an audience with the man than led the Spencer Davis Group, Traffic and Blind Faith to worldwide success.

REVIEWED! The Hold Steady Stay Positive / Tricky returns / Beck back on top form / Ry Cooder completes trilogy / My Bloody Valentine’s classics revisited / Bowie live / U2’s Boy / Earl Brutus uncovered / Sam & Dave on film / Tinarwen in London / MOJO’s at The Great Escape…

PLUS! Led Zep and The Foos at Wembley / In the studio with Madness, John Legend and Mercury Rev / Walter Becker speaks / Welcome My Brightest Diamond / Paul Heaton goes solo / Laura Marling reveals all…

AND FINALLY! The Dream World Of Dion McGregor – a very weird record indeed.

  • Label themed Mojos. This heritage ought to be continued and is wonderful example of Mojo being the guiding light in journalistic darkness amongst rock and pop. There is only one Mojo still rising in the global music magazine press.

  • Have I missed something here? I creamed my pants when I saw the latest cover of Mojo - man that whole sub pop era brings back some great memories of starting to go gigging. Anyway, I just stuck the CD in my player - and you've given me a whole Flight of the Conchords album....great, but not what I was expecting!!! Anyone else had this?

  • But Clash City, you are a fool. Cobain was a genius, none of today's rockers come close to his emotion and depth. I'll wait for your album to better him!

  • Not really. Kurt's poetry and bare-boned music was a complete about-face from the bloated Rock scene of the time, and ushered in a new era. Anyone who single-handedly creates a zeitgeist that defines music from Pearl Jam to today's Emo sound deserves the title of genius.
